Chianti Conversations
Learning from a Tuscan Town
As visiting students, we chose to embrace the local culture of Greve in Chianti by slowing down and listening to its artisans and caretakers.
They have generously shared with us their work of honoring the land, art, architecture, and practices that have for generations sustained the people who call this remarkable place in Italy their home.
Chianti is famous for its dark red wines, emerald green olive oil, and fine art--culinary, visual, and sculptural. Look closer, and you’ll see there is much more to life here!
How do these community members both retain their history and innovate in a world undergoing a rapid rate of change? What can we learn from them?
